TowAtlas provides calculators and informational tools for general educational and planning purposes. Results depend on the information entered and may not reflect actual loaded vehicle, trailer, axle or hitch weights.

No safety, legal or compliance determination

TowAtlas does not certify, approve or determine that any towing or commercial vehicle combination is safe, legal, compliant or suitable for a particular trip. Users are responsible for verifying manufacturer ratings, vehicle labels, tire capacities, hitch limits, axle ratings, route restrictions, permits, jurisdictional requirements and actual loaded weights.

Use exact ratings and real weights

Vehicle and trailer ratings can vary by configuration, options and equipment. Users should rely on information for the exact truck, trailer, hitch and tires being used. Where practical, actual scale weights should be used instead of estimates.

Calculator limitations

Calculators simplify real-world conditions into mathematical inputs and formulas. A result that appears to be within a particular rating does not guarantee that every other applicable limit has been satisfied. Users should review all relevant limits together.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse TowAtlas in a way that interferes with the site, attempts unauthorized access, disrupts other users or uses automated methods that place an unreasonable load on the service.
